Auroras are glowing lights in the sky caused when charged solar particles interact with Earth’s magnetic field and excite atmospheric gases. They occur mainly near the magnetic poles.
Where They Can Be Seen
- Best locations: Norway, Finland, Iceland, Canada, Alaska.
- In India, auroras are extremely rare but can occasionally be spotted in Ladakh (Nubra Valley) and high-altitude Himalayan regions during intense solar storms.
