1. What is the News?

The Threat & The Pause: The US President suddenly paused the attack for 5 days, claiming that secret peace talks are happening. The US wants Iran to completely stop its nuclear bomb program.

Iran’s Angry Reply: Iran completely denied these talks, calling the US claims “fake news.” To show their anger, Iran’s military fired missiles at US military bases in the Middle East.

2. Places in News

Strait of Hormuz: This is a very narrow sea passage connecting the Persian Gulf to the Gulf of Oman. It is the most important route in the world for oil and gas ships.

US Fifth Fleet: This is the main base for the US Navy in the Middle East. It is located in the small island nation of Bahrain. Because of the war, this base is under attack.

3. Good News for India

Even though the Middle East is fighting, India used its smart diplomacy to talk to countries directly.

Safe Passage: Because of these talks, two Indian ships successfully crossed the dangerous Strait of Hormuz.

Why it matters: These ships were carrying massive amounts of LPG (cooking gas). This safe delivery ensures that Indian kitchens will not face a sudden gas shortage or massive price rise.

4. The Root Cause: The 2015 Nuclear Deal

The main reason for all this fighting goes back to the JCPOA (commonly called the 2015 Iran Nuclear Deal).

The Deal: In 2015, Iran agreed to stop its nuclear program. In return, the world agreed to let Iran sell its oil freely.

The Problem: A few years later, the US canceled its part of the deal. In response, Iran started its nuclear work again, leading to the current war-like situation.
