Renowned theatre personality and playwright Dulal Roy was conferred the Minoti Chowdhury Memorial Award at the 18th Singhapurush Radha Govinda Baruah Memorial Theatre Festival held at the Sri Sri Madhavadeva International Auditorium, Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra, Panjabari, Guwahati.
- The award, instituted by socio-cultural organisation Jyotirupa in memory of its patron late Minoti Chowdhury, recognises Roy’s outstanding and lifelong contributions to Assamese theatre and cultural development.

- The annual full-length drama festival began on February 24.
- On the second day, Sonali Beli, written and directed by Jyoti Narayan Nath, was staged by Anubhav – The Artist Guild, Guwahati.
- The concluding play, Bukur Soru Sorai, based on a story by Ujjala Barman and dramatized by Amlan Deep Saikia, will be presented by Angana, Guwahati.
