The National Tribal Film Festival 2025 began in Imphal, Manipur, highlighting the creativity, identity and cultural richness of India’s tribal communities.

  • The festival, titled “Tribal Frames Manipur”, is designed as more than a screening event.

  • Workshops, masterclasses, panel discussions, traditional dances of Kom, Koireng and Purum tribes, and live music enrich the event’s cultural depth.

  • The closing ceremony will coincide with Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh Pakhwada, commemorating Birsa Munda, honouring tribal freedom fighters as part of the government’s focus on tribal pride and empowerment.
