Tripura has signed two major MoUs with IIT Delhi and Tata Indian Institute of Skills (Tata IIS) to train 1,000 youth in high-demand technological and industrial skills under a placement-linked skilling initiative.

MoU with IIT Delhi

Under this MoU, 500 candidates will be trained across five futuristic job roles:

• Artificial Intelligence (AI)
• Machine Learning (ML)
• Internet of Things (IoT)
• Blockchain
• 5G Technology

Training partners include NIELIT Agartala, Tripura Institute of Technology (TIT), and State-level institutions.

Funding:

• PMKVY 4.0 – Central Government
• MMDUP (Mukhya Mantri Dakyatha Unnyanan Prakalpa) – State Government

Officials from IHFC (I-Hub Foundation for Cobotics) also expressed interest in establishing a regional innovation centre in Tripura.

MoU with Tata IIS

Another 500 candidates will be trained through Tripura’s ITI network in specialised industrial skills:

• Industrial automation & safety engineering
• Robotic system integration
• Electric vehicle maintenance
• CNC programming
• 3D printing operations

Tata IIS will provide strong industry placement linkages through its manufacturing partners.

The initiative strengthens Tripura’s position as an emerging hub for Industry 4.0–ready human capital, aligned with Skill India Mission.
