The decision to expand the Tezpur Air Force Station in Assam marks a strategic boost to India’s eastern defence preparedness, especially along the India–China border. 

As per a recent gazette notification, around 382.82 acres of private land in Bokajan village of Sonitpur district will be acquired to support this expansion.
