Why In news

The Government of India has launched the Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan (Healthy Women, Empowered Family Campaign) from 17 September to 2 October 2025, coinciding with Rashtriya Poshan Maah .

• The campaign will be organised at Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, Community Health Centres (CHCs), District Hospitals and other government health facilities across the country.
• The campaign is being inaugurated by the Prime Minister and involves Ministries such as Health & Family Welfare and Ayush.
• The Abhiyaan aims to advance the PM’s vision of health, ‘poshan’ (Nutrition), fitness, and a Viksit Bharat by 2047. 
  • This nationwide intensified campaign seeks to provide women-centric preventive, promotive, and curative health services at the community level

Objectives

• • • To ensure women’s access to essential health services through early detection, preventive care, nutrition improvement, and anaemia reduction.
    • To promote healthy lifestyle practices in families via awareness on hygiene, diet, wellness, and counselling.

Key Features & Activities

• • • Health screenings for women, including tests for non-communicable diseases (NCDs), cancers, anaemia, tuberculosis, and sickle cell disease.
    • Maternal and child healthcare services, nutritional awareness and hygiene education are central to the campaign.
    • Voluntary blood donation drives and special health camps will be organised at district hospitals, primary health centres, community health centres, Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, health kiosks, and through mobile camps.
    • Ministry of Ayush involvement includes lifestyle counselling, yoga sessions, awareness of herbal/natural interventions (for example, for anaemia, PCOD, etc.), and wellness measures.
