• The Assam Chief Minister, during his two-day visit to Tinsukia, inaugurated a newly constructed three-storied Circuit House at Gelapukhuri (Tinsukia bypass area).
• The new facility has been built on 5 bighas of land (including land acquired from the Land & Revenue Department) and cost approximately ₹20.64 crore.
• The construction was completed one month ahead of schedule according to the original tender timeline.
• The CM remarked that among all circuit houses in Assam, the Tinsukia Circuit House is the best in terms of infrastructure, facilities, and strategic design, especially since a convention centre is integrated into the same premises.
• The new building is expected to enhance administrative lodging capacity, support official hospitality, and act as a venue for official, cultural, or social functions given its built-in convention centre.
• This project aligns with the Assam government’s push toward improving infrastructure and decentralizing development across districts, ensuring that even peripheral regions have high-standard official facilities.
