  • Construction of a 3.5 kilometre elevated corridor in Silchar city.
  • Estimated cost: ₹564 crore.
  • The project aims to reduce urban traffic congestion and improve mobility in the rapidly expanding city.

3. Agriculture College in Patharkandi

  • Establishment of the first Agriculture College in the Barak Valley at Patharkandi in Sribhumi district.
  • Estimated cost: ₹122 crore.
  • The institution will provide higher education and research opportunities in agriculture, supporting the agrarian economy of the region.

Railway Electrification Project

  • The Silchar–Badarpur–Churaibari railway line has been electrified at a cost of ₹655 crore.
  • Electrification will:
    • Improve rail connectivity in southern Assam and neighbouring states.
    • Reduce travel time and operational costs.
    • Promote clean and energy-efficient railway transport.

This initiative is part of the Indian Railways electrification programme aimed at improving sustainability and efficiency.
