Following the Goa nightclub fire that killed 25 people, Interpol issued a Blue Corner Notice at the request of the CBI, as the accused are believed to have fled abroad. The notice enables international information-sharing to trace their movement.
What is a Blue Corner Notice?
A Blue (B-Series) Notice is an enquiry notice used to:
- verify a person’s identity,
- collect criminal background details, and
- trace the location of a missing, wanted, or unidentified person.
It does not seek arrest; it aids investigation and may precede a Red Notice.
About Interpol–CBI Coordination

- Each country’s National Central Bureau (India’s is the CBI for Interpol matters) receives and acts on notices, sharing intelligence, enabling tracing, provisional measures, and supporting extradition where legal conditions exist.
- Red notices request provisional arrest pending extradition; Blue notices are investigative.
